Triple S Magasin
Brand, visual merchandising and collateral for a pop-up gallery / shop / workspace in South Bristol.
Triple S Magasin was a short-lived but brilliant idea. It was set up by my good friend Jo in an abandoned hair salon on North Street in Southville, Bristol - at the time there wasn't much going on around there art-wise, and the idea was to create a flexible workspace that would also host regular, changing exhibitions.
It was the first time I'd worked on anything like this, and I was a bit intimidated to be honest. I came up with the idea of using the logo as a window into the space - the big heavy type (Black Slabbath, if you're interested) was punched out of a giant sparkle-finish vinyl on the window so you actually looked through it into the gallery. The added bonus was that when the sun went down the sticker cast a massive Triple S shadow across the floor, kind of like a giant solar-powered projector.
Triple S had some wicked exhibitions in its short life, with local heroes like H.ren, Heath Bunting and Lucie Smailes popping in for two-week long exhibitions. H.ren stood in the window naked and poured coloured powder all over herself. Mental.
