These Are The Sounds
I've always lived in towns or cities, but when I was young my mum and dad would quite often take me and my brother out walking in the countryside, or on holiday to somewhere in the middle of nowhere.
I didn't really like it at the time, but now I feel a powerful nostalgia for those experiences. Sounds are the most powerful trigger for it - if I hear a stream or church bells or a skylark I'm four feet tall again, staring up into the autumn sky.
So, yeah, that's what this picture's about - a record of the past and its unexpected future impact, refracted through the unreliable prism of memory, a sequence of the real and the accidentally invented.
