So it Goes
About a year ago me and my friend Damon did a design swap. It took ages for me to finish it, but here's mine.
Damon's name, Tickertape Room, relates to the ephemeral nature of what we both do - you design something, it goes on the internet for a bit if you're lucky, and then it disappears forever.
I'm a big fan of Kurt Vonnegut, and our acceptance of the essential futility of our work reminded me a bit of his philosophical approach to death in Slaughterhouse 5 - it's a thing that happens, so you might as well accept it.
The chisel in the background is a reference to Damon's ambition - to be a stone carver. It's the opposite to tickertape and pointless early death, but then on the downside you can't undo stuff. And drop shadows are out of the question frankly.
Have a look in the blog for what Damon made of LiteralKid.
