Projection Esemplastic

Large parts of my degree were, on reflection, incredibly pretentious. I spent about four weeks trying to sculpt sounds from chaos, inspired by 'Projection Esemplastic for White Noise' by Joji Yuasa, and although it's not exactly Cheryl Cole I quite liked it by the end.

Esemplasticity is the power to shape disparate elements into a unified whole - in the music, it's about taking sounds and the imagined connotations and making them into notes. This illustration is a response to that, and the power of the mind to retrospectively merge the real, the imagined and the impossible.

So, yeah, I'm still quite pretentious. It's a lifestyle.
