Everything Was Beautiful

I've been obsessed with Kurt Vonnegut's books for years, particularly Slaughterhouse 5; world-weary pessimism and gently humourous despair are pretty much how I roll so that's probably why.

Anyway. I've always thought this sentiment (intended by the protagonist of Slaughterhouse 5 to be his epitaph) is weirdly beautiful - if it was an accurate summary of your life you'd have to feel pretty happy about it. So I decided to draw it, and then screenprint it. The gold and purple felt nicely grandiose in contrast to the simplicity of the words, and also it looks really good in my lounge.

I'd never screenprinted before, and I couldn't have done it without the mostly patient instruction of my esteemed friend and colleague Yvette Ng. Cheers yeah?
